I started running in the winter of 2020 for fitness coming from a pretty sedentary lifestyle and some unhealthy habits. After having got a road bike in the start of 2021 and being able to go swimming a lot with my first child during the summer, I entered a olympic distance triathlon. I really enjoyed the competition but also noticed that running was the area that I could dedicate most training time and energy to.
In my running I had seen quite a lot of improvement in time trials and embarked on a training plan from Jack Daniel's in preparation for the Berlin HM 2022. Before that the only running race was Strömstadsmilen (10km) in 2011 which I ran in 51:56.
Later in 2022 I made my marathon debut in Berlin. I was aiming to get a automatic qualifying time (2:45) for subsequent entries but ended up with 2:49:20. I didn't wait long and tried the following spring in Hamburg but ended up completely blowing up at 25km and jogging in. The end of 2023 brought some redemption on the hilly one-off Gothenburg marathon where I finished 11th with 2:42:09.
In 2024, I kicked off the year with a strong performance at the BSV Winterserie Half Marathon in Berlin on January, clocking a PB of 1:11:11 and getting 2nd place. I followed it up with a PB of 33:01 at the Lauf im Britzer Garten 10K in March. However the next few races weren't good and I lost my "Running Mojo" and was training less before having a qucik increase and getting in shape for the Berlin marathon where I could PB again.
As for 2025 and for further years I have to see what goals I find exciting and what amount of training I can get in - maybe just running for fun?.
